There's a really beautiful walking / cycling path along the coast of Espoo that is about fifty kilometers long. I've been cycling it back and forth now a couple of times and I'm enjoying it thoroughly :).
102 kilometers on a bike isn't necessarily that impressive but the rather slow terrain, my bad fueling and painful knees made it more difficult than it should have been! I've been working on my bike a bit now and hopefully will find a riding position that is better for my knees and neck.
Looks like that indeed! I thought it looked like a plant that likes insects but I can't remember it smelling bad like Wikipedia claims. Thanks a lot once again!
I just added a picture of a plant / flower that we saw in Rhodes almost two years ago. I hope one of the readers (Julia perhaps :) could tell us what the plant is.
My friend Pate made a good point about the environment in the Middle East. Over the last five thousand years the climate of the Middle East has changed quite drastically and according to an article titled "Climatic Change and the History of the Middle East" agriculture was still prevalent during the Arab invasion around 630 C.E. Desertification increased over the following years due to higher temperatures and lack of rainfall. Some scientists have also argued that the Arab invasion itself might have something to do with the desertification because of their different lifestyle.
