Easter in Ukraine - Flowers and Street Culture
Spring had just arrived in Ukraine, and Inna had heard of a nice flower garden near the big World War II memorial, so we knew where to go first. The walk from the center to the memorial takes about half an hour, but the weather was perfect for such activity. The garden didn't look very spectacular from a distance, but when we got closer we started to notice more and more blossoming flowers all over the place. I'm no flower expert, but I still like to watch them. Perhaps Inna or someone else can name a few of them in the comments :).
After spending a good while in the park, we took a trolley bus to the center and started looking for a place where we could eat. On either side of the main street Khreshchatyk we saw people playing instruments or dancing for money. Not quite like in Barcelona, but close! We also met people with various animals who offered us to take a picture with the animal in question. Singers, musicians and dancers are a pleasure to watch, but I'd prefer to see the animals free in the nature.
Later in the evening we climbed to the small hill right in the center of Kiev and watched how people were enjoying their lives and just killing time in various ways. We especially enjoyed watching the skilled roller skaters who practiced jumping over a bar and zigzagging their way through a set of cones. The skaters fell down numerous times, but it seemed like they were made of steel instead of flesh and bones. Every time they just stood up and continued practicing, and without any damage to their clothes either!

I moved your comment here, and you can modify it to look like the original one if you like :).
Actually tulip is the only one of the flowers I can name! I'll post some more photos soon :).
just pay attention to the leaves, the flower that you can't define is also a tulip (different type) :)
